About AzLIC
Azerbaijan Library and Information Consortium is founded by Baku State
University, Azerbaijan Medical University and Khazar University with the
support of the Open Society Institute.
AzLIC Statute
AzLIC guiding principles:
• Access to information is essential in education and
research and has a direct impact on the development of society
• The combined negotiating and purchasing power of libraries
can lead to affordable and sustainable access to electronic information
in country
• The empowerment of citizens and the spread of democracy depends on equal
access to information
AzLIC objectives:
• Provide knowledge and resource sharing for members
• Expand the range of product offering
• Expand the number of consortium members
AzLIC services:
• Ongoing assessment of the information needs of members of consortium
• Provision of model license for e-resources
• Training and workshops: online search engines, databases and open access
sources, online search skills and techniques, evaluation of e- resources,
integration and management of e-resources, statistics and etc.
• Knowledge and information sharing: meetings, workshops, discussion groups,
website and database of member consortia
